Summer at Forest Hills

A Summer on Mission

A diagram illustrating the '3 Circles' gospel message, showing a cycle from God's Design, to Brokenness through Sin, to the Gospel, and back to God's Design.

3 Circles

The gospel of Jesus Christ is the most profound reality of life. Sharing it with someone can be as simple as drawing three circles.

Ways to pray for our GO Teams & Camps

  1. Pray for the health, safety, unity, and smooth travel logistics of each team member throughout the trip.
  2. Pray for the ministry opportunities in each area of Italy — Florence, Arezzo, and Assisi — that God would open doors for meaningful conversations, Gospel impact, and encouragement to those we meet.
  3. Pray for our ministry partners — Charlotte Jones, the Worthy family, and the Francini family — that the Lord would strengthen, encourage, and sustain them as they faithfully serve in Italy.
  1. Pray for the Vancouver churches that we will be serving and hosting outreach events with.
  2. Pray for the students and adults to be bold and confident as they share their faith and shine the light of Jesus in the community we are serving in.
  3. Pray for safe traveling to and from Vancouver, and for the health of each of our students and adults.
  1. Pray for safety and protection in all travel and work throughout the trip.
  2. Pray that God would work powerfully through the team, that lives would be impacted, His name would be glorified, and His Kingdom would grow.
  1. Pray for hearts to be awakened to the Gospel.
  2. Pray for community and unity within both the High School Ministry + Middle School Ministry.
  3. Pray for boldness and spiritual growth for each student attending.
  4. Pray for leaders, pastors, and camp staff as they pour out their energy, wisdom, and love throughout the week.
  5. Pray that what happens at camp, and what the students experience lasts beyond camp.
  1. Pray for our middle school students and leaders as they lead out in a local backyard Bible club
  2. Pray we have many kiddos come to our Bible club to hear and learn about Jesus
  3. Pray for strength and wisdom throughout the long, hot week with fast-changing scenarios.
  1. A soft heart to the Holy Spirit's leading with all I encounter, and especially for teaching the class materials.
  2. For the students to absorb the material and be excited to put it into practice
  3. For safe traveling on small airplanes and living in jungle conditions.
  1. Pray that our entire team would walk in deep unity with one heart, one mission, and one love for the people we will be serving.
  2. Pray that the Lord would go before every detail of our travel and preparation, removing obstacles and making this a source of joy, encouragement, and blessing for everyone involved.
  3. Pray for our ministry partners serving in Budapest. Pray that God would renew their strength daily and sustain them as they continue faithfully pouring into people and advancing the Gospel where He has placed them.
  4. Pray for the hearts of people in Budapest that we will come into contact with while doing evangelism + gospel sharing.
  1. Pray for the mission team as preparations continue, specifically that the Lord would raise up 2–6 additional team members to join and serve.

  1. Pray for kids to hear and respond to God’s Word.
  2. Pray for kids to have fun and make lasting memories.
  3. Pray for families sending kids to camp, especially first-time campers.
  4. Pray for safety for all kids and leaders throughout the week.
  5. Pray for leaders and adults to have an encouraging and meaningful week.
  1. Please pray for the 11 families who have signed up for the camp. Our hope is that every family will be able to come and truly experience the blessing, rest, encouragement, and fellowship that we are preparing for them.
  2. Please pray for the Polish volunteers who want to serve at the camp. Please pray that nothing would stand in the way for those who are supposed to come, and that God would prepare their hearts for this time of service.
  3. Pray for unity for our whole team, may we be one team with one heart for the families.  Please pray that nothing would stand in the way of our travel and preparations, and that this whole process would already be a time of blessing for everyone.
  1. That God would be in our time of preparation, helping our team to grow together in faith and preparing the hearts of those who would both share and receive the Gospel.
  2. That the travel of all three of our teams would go safely and smoothly.  That every person would reach Nairobi healthy and rested and every bag on time and intact.
  3. That we would prepare ourselves in the Word and in prayer for the spiritual warfare that we know we will encounter.
  4. That both physical and spiritual needs will be met, new churches will thrive, and God will be glorified!

PRACTICAL WAYS TO LIVE YOUR SUMMER ON MISSION

  • Host a cookout at your house and intentionally invite your neighbors
    • During the cookout share a quick devotional or have a gospel-focused prayer before the meal
    • Share where you go to church and invite them with you the next Sunday
  • If you have small children: organize a playday with neighbor friends or others and share about your faith with the parents as the kids play
  • While you're on vacations this summer, pray for opportunities to share your faith: on the beach, at a restaurant, on the plane, etc.
    • Simply just talking about your church home, praying for your waiter/waitress, or sharing a verse of Scripture can open the doors to an engaging gospel conversation.
  • Host a summer Bible study at your house
    • Women: there are studies already happening in homes through the book of Esther this summer!
  • Go and serve with one of our local ministry partners in our community
