3 Ways To Give To Missions At FHBC
1) Giving tithes & offerings through our church operating budget
10% of the church's gross receipts are sent directly to the Southern Baptist Convention’s Cooperative Program. When you couple the support of our ministry partners, mission engagements and other missions efforts, an additional 7% of our church operating budget is devoted to missions.
COOPERATIVE PROGRAM MINISTRIES
International Mission Board (IMB)
The International Mission Board is the largest missionary sending agency in the world. The IMB has more than 4,000 missionaries serving abroad and, through our Cooperative Program receipts, is able to fully fund their positions so missionaries don't spend time with personal fund raising. We also designate 80% of our annual ENGAGE Missions Offering directly to the IMB.
North American Mission Board (NAMB)
Serving North America, NAMB seeks to mobilize churches and church planters for the spread of the Gospel in under-reached, metropolitan areas of North America. 32 cities have been identified where church planting initiatives are taking place.
Tennessee Baptist Adult Homes
Adult Homes is a Christian ministry providing residential and program services to senior adults and adults with developmental disabilities. This is a ministry cooperatively supported through the Tennessee Baptist Convention.
Tennessee Baptist Children's Homes
The mission of Tennessee Baptist Children’s Homes is to share the love of Jesus Christ with children and families in crisis. Each year, TBCH helps children and families—regardless of faith background—through residential care, foster care, counseling and other programs. TBCH has five locations across Tennessee including the Middle Tennessee location on Franklin Road.
2) Giving to our ENGAGE Missions Offering
Southern Baptist churches have traditionally given to designated offerings around Christmas and Easter that directly support the IMB and NAMB. FHBC has combined these into one designated offering that is received year round and funds these and other entities.
The ENGAGE Missions Offering breaks down as follows:
- 80% — International Mission Board
- 10% — North American Mission Board
- 6% — Tennessee Baptist Children’s Home
- 2% — Tennessee Baptist Convention's Golden State Missions
- 2% — Direct Missions / Benevolence
3) Giving to our Missions Endowment Fund
You can give to this fund at any time, and it is disbursed annually to help accomplish the missions strategy of FHBC (as set by our Missions Committee). This is an ideal place to give large, one-time gifts. As the principle balance continues to grow, your gift will continue to give as time advances.
